Respond to Facility Emergencies
Nationally recognised single-unit training in responding to facility emergencies — recognising and reporting emergencies, responding to warnings, and taking appropriate action including safe evacuation and assisting those who need help.
Course overview
This nationally recognised single-unit course covers the skills and knowledge occupants need to respond effectively during a facility emergency — recognising and reporting emergencies, responding to warnings and advice, and taking the most appropriate action, including evacuating from a danger area.
If you are an occupant required to be 'emergency aware' in a facility — a building, structure or workplace as specified in Australian Standard 3745 and AS 4083 — this course equips you to act safely and decisively when it matters.
Participants learn to: apply WHS/OHS requirements, including identifying hazards and controlling risks; comply with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice; follow facility emergency procedures and the direction of Emergency Control Organisation members and attending emergency services; identify and evacuate occupants who may require assistance; maintain their own safety and the safety of others; and participate in emergency response exercises, including briefings, debriefings, simulations, reviews and desktop drills.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909. On successful completion, participants are issued a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit below. This unit can also be completed as part of the Fire Safety Officer Course Set or Fire Safety Advisor Course Set.
