ABOUT FERST

Emergency response built around your people.

We're an Australian-owned business helping organisations prepare for emergencies, manage risk, and train teams to respond with confidence. Across 800+ clients and 2,000+ sites nationwide, every plan, course, and diagram we deliver is built around the people who'll use it.

Our story

FERST was founded in Canberra in 2007 with a simple belief: protecting people comes first. Emergency response should never be a tick-box exercise — it should give people the confidence to act when it matters.

Since then, we have supported universities, hospitals, schools, government departments, commercial facilities, industrial sites and remote locations across Australia. Our experience has shown that effective emergency management is built around real facilities, real risks and the people expected to respond.

Today, we deliver nationally recognised training through our partnership with Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), together with compliance-based training, evacuation diagrams, and site-specific emergency plans and procedures. We are Australian-owned, headquartered in the ACT, and ready to support organisations across every state and territory.

how we work

Four principles that guide everything we do.

From classroom training to multi-site emergency response plans, the same four principles shape every project. They're not slogans — they're how we decide what good looks like.

People first

Compliance is a baseline, not a goal. We design every course, diagram, and plan around the people who'll use it — because in a real incident, it's their decisions that matter.

Real-world experience

Our team has stood inside the buildings we plan for, walked the routes our diagrams describe, and trained the wardens who use our procedures. That operational grounding shapes everything we deliver.

Nationally recognised

Our training runs under Allens Training (RTO 90909), so every RTO certification is valid across all states and territories — and stays valid wherever your team works next.

Practical not theoretical

A plan that sits on a shelf protects no one. We write procedures people will read, diagrams they can act on, and training that lasts beyond the certificate — outputs built for use, not audit folders.
