Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment
The course applies to individuals who may be required to have first attack firefighting skills in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. It includes preparing for incidents such as small fires that can be controlled using a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket or a fire hose reel.
Course overview
CPPFES2005 Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment gives your people the practical skills to safely use first-attack firefighting equipment — extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels — to control and extinguish small fires before they escalate.
Across the unit, participants learn to identify different fire types and classifications, select the right equipment for each, and operate it with the correct technique. The training reinforces personal safety, workplace fire procedures, and staying calm and in control during an emergency.
It suits workers across construction, hospitality, manufacturing and office environments, and is ideal for employees, safety officers and fire wardens responsible for fire safety on site.
On completion, participants can confidently and competently use first-attack firefighting equipment — helping protect people and property and supporting a safer workplace.
